Originally from Mexico, architect and urban planner Eduardo Cadaval co‑founded an architectural office with Clara Solá-Morales in New York in 2003; in 2005, the studio moved to Barcelona and Mexico City. He studied at the National University of Mexico and Harvard University.

Cardaval is active in higher education. He is an Associate Professor of Urbanism at Barcelona’s School of Architecture ETSAB, UPC. He has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Calgary University‘s Barcelona Program, as well as at Harvard University, MIT, Yale, ETH (Zurich) and EPT (Lausanne).

Studio Cadaval & Solá-Morales has completed dozens of projects implemented in the United States, Spain and Mexico. Their work has been selected for a number of exhibitions in Europe and abroad. Their implementations have won many prestigious awards, such as the German Bauwelt Prize (Munich 2009), the Young Architects Prize from the Catalan Institute of Architecture (Barcelona 2008), the Silver Medal at the XI. Mexican Biennale of Architecture for TDA House (2010), FAD Internacional Award 2016 for the unique apartment housing Cordoba-Reurbano in Mexico and others. Cadaval & Solá-Morales has appeared on Wallpaper magazine’s list of the ten best emerging studios and was named one of the ten best architecture studios in the world by Design Vanguards.
